Article evaluation:
The article lacks the details in explaining how women was able to go as far as to achieve acknowledgement in computing. The women in computing should give some of the examples of how women influence the science and technology field instead of just listing women who have already been successful in computing. It would be great if there were more outside sources then linked in Wikipedia, maybe some books or articles. Is there any movement that have let women in computing into the field that was once seem as a limited occupation in history?the article should give a little more information on the award recipient, what did they do to have the award and encourage female in either coding or also in technology. It only shows the success part of the topic, but does not show how it evolved. One l;inks did not work, all the others are from websites or academic articles.
The Women In Computing article are represented as a list of successful programmers and CEOs of computing, although it is the achievement that women have acquired in the past decades, it does not show the struggles and the improvement that was made and how it improved women’s chances or recognition in the technology field. Our class are about learning what women and technology can do combine in order to fight for the view that technology can be equally shared and improved when females enters that field, women have been getting limited resources and recognition for technology knowledge and also for their contribution into the the technology occupation. Computers and other technology occupation is usually recruits man and was made in favor of man as it could create a gendered machine that could take control and manipulate women, with the creations like shopping online, assumptions of women’s lack of knowledge in using computer it could let them get away with women’s shopping habits. Nowadays men are more dominate in the computer and science field where a lower percentage of women get to be in that occupation even after graduating and getting a bachelor's degree in computer science. The chances women can get from growing out of their scary thoughts of not wanting to go into technology is with the help that past successful women who have dealt with the hardship and speak out and do some program, or movement to get women to have the courage to want to go into technology field where they do not get the idea that it should be intimidating as more male are labeled as superior than women in the computing occupation. The relationship of women and computing will change how women view themselves as an important output in society and bring more skill sets to the workplace and also improve the economy, by more inventions like the household refrigerator, washer, as women will also put data in how women think what other women will want and the point of commercial strategy which is learned with knowledge in computing and technology. It is to improve and better the society.
