Udesh S. Senarath (born October 11, 1994) is a Sri Lankan academic, researcher, and lecturer who works predominantly in the field of Information Systems. As of 2024, he serves as a Lecturer (Probationary) at Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, where he is actively involved in curriculum development and research coordination. His areas of research include e-learning adoption, the behavioral impact of social media on academic performance, and information systems security.

Udesh was born and raised in Sri Lanka, excelling academically from a young age. He earned a B.Sc. in Business Information Technology (First Class Honors) from Rajarata University of Sri Lanka in 2019. After completing his undergraduate degree, he pursued a Master's in Information Systems Management at the University of Colombo, graduating in 2023 with a Merit Pass. His academic journey has been marked by numerous teaching roles, research supervision, and contributions to various committees within the university.

In his early academic career, Senarath was appointed as a Lecturer (Temporary) at Rajarata University in 2020, where he quickly established himself as a key figure in the Department of Information Systems. His leadership roles include serving as Coordinator for Proceeding Book Designing and Member of the Language Editing Committee for the 2nd International Research Symposium on Management (IRSM) in 2023. Additionally, he has played a vital role in supervising Independent Research guiding students through industrial training programs.

Udesh's research has garnered attention in both national and international academic circles. He has published numerous papers, including studies on privacy disclosure on social media, social media's influence on cognitive psychology, and mobile app adoption. His work has been featured in journals like the Journal of Management Matters and presented at conferences such as the Interdisciplinary Conference of Management Researchers.

Notably, Udesh has also been involved in several community and professional initiatives. He was recognized as a Resource Person for the Sipthera Awareness Session organized by the Business Information Technology Students' Association in 2024 , where he contributed to raising awareness about mental health and the responsible use of technology.

Udesh's achievements extend beyond academia. He has been a Resource Person for Rajarata University's External Degree Program, conducting sessions and overseeing the Information Technology & Communication modules for the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program. His commitment to promoting mental health has also led him to engage with online communities, including his contributions to mental health awareness on Quora, where he addresses the impacts of social media on cognitive well-being.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Udesh actively participates in research projects and academic collaborations, and he continues to mentor and guide future generations of students in the field of Information Systems. With a growing presence in the academic world, Senarath is committed to advancing research and education in technology-related fields in Sri Lanka.

Early Life and Education

Udesh Senarath completed his primary and secondary education with outstanding results in both the General Certificate of Education (Ordinary Level) and Advanced Level exams at Harischandra National College - Negombo. He later pursued a Bachelor's degree in Business Information Technology at Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, graduating with First Class Honors in 2019. In 2023, he completed a Master's degree in Information Systems Management from the University of Colombo, earning a Merit Pass. In addition to his formal education, Udesh holds several diplomas in key areas:

• Diploma in Computer Technology from the Digital International, which laid the foundation for his career in information technology.
• Diploma in English from the British Way English Academy, further strengthening his language and communication skills.
