Detachment Francis de Palestine et de Syrie
The Detachment Francis de Palestine et de Syrie was a detachment of French soldiers that fought in the Sini Palestine campaign during World War 1 against the Ottoman Empire. The detachment was sent to the theatre in January 1917 and was around 10,000 men strong, it was placed in the Egyptian Expeditionary Force under British command. The detachment most notably fought in the Third battle of Gaza and the decisive Battle of Megiddo, the number of casualties the detachment took is unknown.
