Biographical sketch
editI'm an associate professor at the University of Michigan in history and women's studies. I am starting to integrate wikipedia into the courses I teach--I am a new editor but I am trying to learn.
I teach courses on history of women, African American history, and girls' studies. I am the author of Crescent City Girls: The Lives of Young Black Women in Segregated New Orleans. I have also published articles in American Quarterly, Gender & History, Tulsa Studies in Women's Literature and Journal of the History of Childhood and Youth and Signs: Journal of Women in Culture and Society.
This semester I am working with a class on a Wikipedia editing projects focused on black women's history.
