A kanmuri (, crown) is a traditional Japanese hat worn by noblemen with ceremonial dresses called sokutai and ikan (衣冠). There are several kinds used with ceremonial dresses ({{nihongo|benkan|冕冠}・raikan (礼冠)・buraikan (武礼冠), all made in metal. During the Heian period it was made of black lacquered fabric 、hitai ()iso ()・{{nihongo|kanzashi|簪・Koji (巾子)・{{nihongo|ei|纓}。There are several types 厚額あつびたい・薄額・透額すきびたい・半透額などの種類がある。
