Prof. Laxmankumar Sannellappanavar (Year of birth 1936), also known as Guruji.

Guruji has been in the field of Yoga since 1949. He started on foot, in a remote village in Karnataka, India and still going strong, after several decades of service, to many communities including some of the biggest cities in the world. He trainshas trained thousands of people every year, by traveling to various places (including USA, Russia) and has trained students from more than 32 countries.

Conferred with various awards and titles such as “Seva Ratna”, “Yoga Ratna”, “Yoga Shree”, Guruji has received recognitions both nationally and internationally by acclaimed organisations and esteemed individuals for his dedicated, free -of -charge Yoga teachingteachings and social service.

Guruji believes Yoga is for all. The doors of his class always remain open and he welcomes everyone to join in. He sets no criteria for one to learn Yoga and adapts his teaching according to the needs of his students.

Guruji Prof. Laxmankumar’s accomplishments are like an ocean! Much of his service was done in pre-technology era, at grassroots level in India and later, in other countries. Moreover, since he approached his work as social or community service without any thought of fame, fortune or creating records, not all of them are documented.
