I am Patrick Spaulding Ryan, JD, PhD. I have a paid research engagement with Turion Space, and I co-author with Ryan Westerdahl, Turion Space's co-founder and CEO. I therefore have a conflict of interest on articles relating to orbital data centers, sun-synchronous orbit allocation, and on-orbit servicing. I do not edit those articles directly; I use talk-page {{edit COI}} requests instead. No one pays me to edit Wikipedia, so paid-contribution disclosure does not apply.

I also publish academic work on telecommunications and technology policy, including spectrum regulation, the ITU, competition law, and internet governance. I do not add citations to my own work in any article. Where I think one belongs, I propose it on the talk page and leave the decision to other editors. My publications are listed on my SSRN author page, so any editor can check that commitment against the record.

I am the primary drafter of my posts; I use an AI assistant to check sources, and I am accountable for everything I post.
