Wikipedia notability guidelines are clear and relatively simple. However, personal interpretations of it may differ, and that's why some of the AfD debates are for.
I'm aware of what an album needs to be considered notable. On the other hand, I'm aware that if there's at least some vital information on it (track listings, credits, infobox, cover, etc) a separate article is worth creating, even if the article doesn't meet the criteria for inclusion. Album articles are good as a source of basic information, and that's why I defend its "indiscriminate" inclusion here. Of course we cannot allow people to just go creating pages like "X is an album by Y released in month dd, yyyy. The tracklisting is: […].", but if the article contains at least comprehensive information on the sonority, the musical style, the personnel involved and the influence on the band's career, then I would consider it ok for inclusion.
I admit I've created non-notable albums, some of them have grown beyond a stub, most of them now assert notability. When I come across non-notable albums, I will only request its deletion if there's too little info on it to be included (e.g. the name of it, release date and the tracklisting only). Some of you may call me a "betrayer of the Wiki community" for supporting the creation of non-notable albums articles and for ignoring the ones that already exist, but after three years here I assumed people are judged for what they do, and not for what they don't do.
The same applies to songs and singles.
I follow the notability policies of people and bands very strictly. If a band does not meet any of the criteria for WP:BAND, I'll request it's deletion mercilessly. And the same applies to people.
Well, let's say everything in a short sentence: I don' t believe every person and every band in the world deserve an article here, but once they get it, their related works could be created as well, specially albums and books.
