Rao Madhukar Shah Bundela

Madhukar Shah Bundela was the hero of the Bundela rebellion against the British in 1842. Madhukar Shah was hanged by the British government at the age of only twenty one, so that the spark of rebellion could not go ahead. The British were so upset by the Bundela rebellion by Madhukar Shah that they ordered Madhukar Shah to be hanged openly in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. To keep this sacrifice alive forever, there is still his burial place in Sagar Jail in Sagar district.
