The concept was developed by Leighton & Sheree Jones , with the help of a designer (Michael Howlett). The building was built with the help (in main) of Hawkland Ecological Construction.

The land is a 2 acre site that sits in the valley of Challacombe (meaning chilly valley)

The land and project started in 2014. It is a self build project which has been continuing over this time. It’s purpose is to prove that a sustainable home can be built at a relatively reasonable affordable price and to show that environmentally friendly buildings are possible at a local level.

The work is almost complete (16-09-2020) with just drainage and a green roof to complete the home. With garden and land to be continued afterwards.

Once completed the remaining land will be used as a wild Meadow down to the river Bray. With a miniature small holding area growing vegetables and animals to have a sustainable living piece of land.
