I am a digital enthusiast with a strong affinity with information and computing, both held since my my mid teens in the 1980's, at which time I was an early adopter of home computing, and later, the internet. I first joined Wikipedia as a contributor (under a different user ID) around 2003. I made a number of edits to pages at that time, some of which have survived (as I write) some 17 years later. Due to time commitments I allowed my user account to lapse, or at-least, I can't remember what it was.
Wikipedia has gone from what was then - an often frowned upon 'take with a pinch of salt' information source - to a more credible crowd sourced point of reference. I am sorry I was not able to stay on the journey, and hope that by rejoining the community I can contribute and participate in what I am sure will be enlightening and fruitful conversation, ultimately to my own betterment and for the benefit of Wikipedia readers.
