Popeye The Cat Popeye the Cat is a female calico cat residing in a Boston warehouse. She is the glue holding together an unnamed beekeeping company stationed in Boston. She provides emotional support as well as executive leadership for the entire staff.
Early life
editPopeye the cat (b. circa 2015) was a stray cat living on the streets of Boston's South End. Along with her sister, she was taken in by employees of the company and cared for as a kitten. The two cats were named Popeye and Olive, after characters of famed comic strip Popeye, featuring a salty sailor with a penchant for canned spinach and feisty flapper Olive Oyl.
When still young kittens, Olive ran away. Being the more affectionate of the two sisters, her disappearance was a blow to the morale of the staff. Popeye was also affected, as the pair had bonded. Some attribute the shifty personality she currently maintains to this traumatic separation in kittenhood.
