Windskating

Windskating is an offspring of Skateboarding where the skater holds a small sail or anything else that can capture the wind for propulsion. It most likely was done not to long after Skateboarding appeared in form or another. From the beginning it was always popular in land logged regions and practiced often in parking lots and less traveled roads. When Windsurfing became popular it adapted it's spirit and it was especially popular with windsurfers that didn't live close to the ocean. Small adapters were mounted onto the front of their Skateboards where the mast of the sail could slide into. Even Windsurfers living near the sea enjoyed this activity quiet often on days with little to none wind as their is less resistance getting a skateboard moving over asphalt then moving a Windsurfer through water. Further it was helpful in practicing basic maneuvers such as the Duck Dive
