Bio
editAbout Me
editHello! Thank you for visiting my user page. I am from the Pacific Northwest. My interests are computer technology, video games, and playing tennis. I'm interested in computer technology like the Nvidia 3080ti graphics card, NZXT Kraken M22, and the Trident Z Royal. The video games I play and watch are VALORANT and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. These video games improve my spatial awareness and reaction time since enemies are appearing from every direction.[1]Also, I enjoy watching E-Sports for these games and supporting teams, like SENTINELS. When I'm not inside playing games or studying, I usually play tennis with my friends.
My Wikipedia Interests
editCurrently, I use Wikipedia to grasp concepts quickly or to begin research on essay topics. If I were to help volunteer on this site for the long term, I would help create pages for new video games and computer parts. Even though I use Wikipedia to a great extent, this would be very unlikely.
Article Evaluation
editI've recently read a book about Feudal Japan which was very interesting. Moreover, my favorite part about this time period is the clan system and culture, specifically the Minamoto. I visited the Minamoto clan article on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: the amount of dead links, the references are not credible, and lack of citations.
Dead Links
editIn the beginning of the article, most of the links are usable and lead to other helpful Wikipedia articles. Once you get past the "Members of the Minamoto clan" heading, you can see a lot of dead links. Most of them seem to be names relating to the Minamoto clan but seem to not have an article to link to. All of them say "page does not exist". I can't see much being done to solve this other than creating the pages about the missing content which would be a lot of work.
References
editSome of the references used to cite sources are not credible. The second reference by Frederic, Louis is the "Japan Encyclopedia". The multiple poor ratings talk about the book containing misinformation and inaccuracies, as well as the book's dating is very old(2002). The article needs a revamp on its references to insure that they are credible.
Citations
editThis article has a lack of citations. In the article, it mostly uses links to other articles on Wikipedia, but uses the 3rd reference to cite most of its facts. The book they use to source is from 1958 which seems very outdated. This would highlight the fact the article is outdated and needs to be revamped. However, the article does not have any amount of citations for a lot of the information.
Summary
editI think this article is ok for general knowledge, but for anything research related the references are too old and unreliable. It needs improvement on its dead links, references, citations and an overall revamp of the content.
