Signed up and signing in.

Why?

Well, like millions of others, I use Wikipedia a lot, more these days it seems.

Ah, the wonders of modern technology and information sharing for free (just as Tim Berners-Lee wanted), a sentiment I agree with.

Anyway, I have had no problems with Wikipedia information and know editors are on the ball and in a test to change things by deliberate mistake, things were cleared up very quickly, mostly; just like the real world or even more learned publications.

Okay, so why have I signed up to Wikipedia.

Well, I just watched a new programme, I went to look up information on it and though good and comprehensive, it seemed lacking. Well, the programme I watched was a first and has shown NEW and the untold story or this particular subject.

So I thought, I would (finally) like to add some information and so am currently doing the mission tutorial to get me started and then I will take it from there.

Q: What sort of editor do I think I will be?

A: Occasional I would say, anything I come across or new information that can be cross referenced and perhaps a wikipedia page could benefit from.

Q: Do I have any qualifications, anything that will help me here?

A: Well, I did pass my English Language exam, I have edited things online in the past like on the imdB and other sites with more episode synopsis and quotes, etc. I have written many books too and have more ideas and books (and rewrites) in the pipeline (all unpublished) but I am moving forward and have even bought software to help in this task, but most importantly all this will help me get back into writing and improve my writing skills.

One step at a time.

Thanks for reading,

P.S. the name... 'wawtip' means " Writing - A Way To Inform People "  :-)

P.P.S. Read many pages through now, most of the information is contained out there, so though I could add some further details perhaps, as it is a long process, I may just leave the editing for those that really want to for now.
