Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute (SSSI) is a professional body in Australia and New Zealand's that represents the interested of surveying and spatial science professionals.

History

The SSSI was created in July 2009 when the SSI and ISA merged.


Structure

The SSSI has a Board and Consultative Committee (CC) that governs the organisation. The Institute has eight regions (Victoria, NSW, Queensland, Tasmania, South Australia, Northern Territory, Western Australia and New Zealand) that organise event and services.

Membership

There are four membership types

  • Full Member - Min 3 yr bachelor degree & at least one year practical experience OR eligibility for Certified Practitioner or Certified Professional.
  • Associate - Diploma, advanced diploma or first year graduate
  • Affiliate - Technical institute certificate levels 1-4 or no post secondary qualifications >18 years
  • Student - Full time university or technical institute
