Wgbv died 10 December, 2006 in an accident.
William was not active on Wikipedia for the last several years. He started the article on his namesake, William Gannaway Brownlow; if this was a conflict of interest, it should also be noted that this was the only "vanity article" to ever open with a sentence such as this:

He was a graduate of McCallie School, where he was a avid and award winning crew member. He was a Page in the U.S. House of Representatives. William graduated from Georgetown University, where he majored in Computer Science. At Georgetown, he was stage manager of the theatrical troupe, Mask and Bauble and was photography editor of the Hoya. His pictures were also featured in USA Today.
