Village Centre Batemans Bay (formally Stockland Batemans Bay) is a local shopping centre in the New South Wales south coast town of Batemans Bay. Village Centre Batemans Bay can be seen from the Princes Highway, which runs from Sydney to Adelaide via Melbourne.
The main part of the centre is different from most other centres, as it is more open. The roof is partly open and partly glass, which allows for natural light to enter. There are also many entrances and balconies that front streets, which keep the centre more inviting to shoppers.
Bridge Plaza Batemans Bay is a smaller nearby shopping centre with the same owner and manager. It houses some small retail stores and a Woolworths supermarket.
History
editVillage Centre was previously owned by Stockland and retailed under the name Stockland Batemans Bay until it was purchased for $70 million[2] on August 7, 2008 by the Local Government Superannuation Scheme (LGSS). [3]
