The Federation of Virginia Food Banks (FVFB) is the name given to the board that governs the Feeding America food banks in Virginia.
Mission
editThe FVFB helps to support the seven Virginia/Washington D.C. food banks. The Federation of Virginia Food Banks help the state of Virginia with feeding the nearly 800,000 Virginians that have little to no access to food.[1] In 2020, food insecurity in the state of Virginia increased dramatically from 9.9% to 22%, due to the coronavirus.[2] The FVFB was one of the organizations charged by Virginia's Governor Northam in October of 2020 with bringing Virginia's hunger rate down.
