This is my nook of the wikipedia. My intent is to help the index become richer; I usually scour talk pages and enjoy the discussions there usually asking for someone with more of a clue to address questions or inconsistencies.
I believe that someones right at self expression is of paramount importance. Even though this wikipedia should seek to be a neutral source of information on all subjects and topics, there is always place for your view and perspective as long as you respect the view of others. Still, the right of self expression doesn't give one license to create fiction and present it as reality. But how does one actually go about proving what is real and what is fiction in history; it all happened in the past and to the true believer or nonbeliever anything that doesn't fit the perception is rejected.
How does one then combat dogma? By insisting on rational behaviour and free, civil discourse. Ah but aren't these concepts of western culture? Are they not elements of a foreign cultural hegemony to many? Freedom of expression and critical thought and discourse can only be considered an unhealthy alien influence undermining the status quo to those who seek to limit it.
Denying the right to freedom of expression is oppressive by definition. Wikimam
agreed.
