I am 20 years old, originally from Atlanta, GA, and call Lawrenceville, GA my hometown (though I’ve lived in 6 cities in 4 states (see Places. I am currently enrolled in the Associate of Fine Arts program at COA-Elizabeth City, the town in which I have lived since April, 2000. I am a former Music Major and attended UNCG during the 2004-2005 academic year. While I still plan to minor in music (see Wikipedia:Instruments below and to right) I plan to pursue a career in Ministry, probably Youth Ministry, though I’m not entirely sure where at the moment.
As stated above, I am a musician and play 10 instruments that I can think of, at varying degrees of suckiness (again, see Wikipedia:Instruments).
I’m really into all kinds of music. I like just about everything but Country, however odd that might be for someone who spent 10% of their life in Mississippi. Some of my personal favorite artists are (sort of alphabetically):
3 Doors Down, Avril Lavigne (my guilty pleasure), Better Than Ezra, Caedmon's Call, Counting Crows, Eagle-Eye Cherry, Five Iron Frenzy, Good Charlotte, The Goo Goo Dolls, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, Jet, John Mayer, Linkin Park, Live, Matchbox 20, Michelle Branch, The Newsboys, Nickelback, The O.C. Supertones, Pachelbel, Phillip Bliss, Pillar, Relient K, Sloan, Third Day
Artists I have seen in concert are indicated in Bold text. Everyone I've seen in concert is also listed below, followed by number of times (if more than 1).
Better Than Ezra, Bleach, Caedmon's Call, CKY, The The Everyones, Five Iron Frenzy, Holland, Micah Tawlkes Band (x2), Jason Mraz, Jet, The O.C. Supertones, Pillar (x2), Relient K, Sloan, Third Day
I’m a Huge Atlanta Braves fan. Red Sox fan by default because they kicked The Yankees’ collective butt in ‘04.
Yes, it is a sport, and yes I am going to beat Allison Pierce one day.
I’m a runner, though not as much anymore as I should be. For someone who used to do it all the time, I’m still pretty slow, though. My personal record (by a large margin) time for the mile is 5:32, and for the course (3.1 mi/5 km) is 21:30 (also by a slightly lesser but still rather large margin). Running is wonderful. It clears your mind. Except when it’s cold. I hate cold, and loathe running in it. Then all you’re thinking about is “@#$%&, IT’S COLD!” (which is not a good thing).
Gigantic fan of both Star Wars trilogies (In order of preference: IV, III, V, VI, II, I). I still want to be a Jedi when I grow up. Favorite characters: R2-D2, Yoda, Wedge Antilles, Face Loran, Corran Horn, Kit Fisto. The whole saga and Expanded Universe is incredible. One of my earliest childhood memories is watching Han Solo push Chewbacca down the Death Star garbage chute. Why I remember that more than the famous Star Destroyer Devastator vs Tantive IV battle at the beginning of the movie, I have no idea. I suppose it just appealed to a 4-year-old. But in any case, I’ve been a fan ever since.
Special effects, the world controlled by machines, and poppin’ pills with Laurence Fishburne. “Can life get any better? I submit that it cannot!” (Brian Regan quote especially for Amanda). But wait… The Woman in the Red Dress and the Tasty Wheat conversation? Better it gets already! And that’s just the first movie.
American Beauty, Bowling for Columbine, BRO Movies (1, 2, [3]), Drumline, Fight Club, Horatio Hornblower, series Italian Job, Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, Ocean’s 11, Ocean’s 12, The Passion of the Christ, The Shawshank Redemption, The Village, Zoolander.
Won’t go into detail or alphabetize for the moment (makes mental note to come back to this).
The Chronicles of Narnia, Star Wars (especially X-Wing), DUNE, Harry Potter, Stephen King, Lord of the Rings, Hornblower, Poodles from Hell, Pride and Prejudice, Isaac Asimov.
