George Farr (c. 1793 - ?) was a circuit rider in the Methodist Episcopal Church.
In 1820, he was assigned to the Smith's Creek circuit, where he rode alongside Philander Smith.[1] At the 1820 annual conference, his petition to be accepted on trial as a circuit rider was denied, as there were reports that he was a married man pretending to be unmarried. By the 1821 conference, these rumours were found to be untrue, and he was accepted on trial as a circuit rider.[2] That year, he was assigned to the Augusta circuit, where he rode alongside Wyatt Chamberlayne.[3]
At the 1822 Genesee conference, he requested that he be removed from the ranks of the circuit riders; this request was granted. He soon resumed riding at the behest of the William Case, the presiding elder of Upper Canada. His informal status continued until 1826, when he was again accepted as a circuit rider by the conference.[4]
