Lansford Whiting was a Methodist circuit rider.
Whiting converted to Methodism around 1804. Whiting was accepted on trial as a circuit rider in 1808, and assigned to the Plattsburgh Circuit.[1] Whiting rode the Dunham Circuit of Lower Canada in 1809. Under his watch, membership in the circuit's Methodist society increased from 262 to 319 individuals.[2] In 1810, he rode the Thurman Circuit. He contracted smallpox, and died June 4th, 1811 in Poughkeepsie, New York.[1]
