About me

edit

"Real happiness lies in the completion of work using your own brains and skills.” – Soichiro Honda.[1] This is one of my favorite quotes. Soichiro Honda is an inspiration, his company is one of the world's leading manufacturer of motorcycles and automobiles.[2] He lived a great life where he believed in methods like “trials and errors" while never giving up.[3] I have always been inspired by his work, and ideology, and I too one day want to inspire others.

I'm the type of person who will rarely rely on others, I believe if you truly want to learn, you must first get your own hands dirty. You can read as much as you want and get help as much as you need but to truly understand the material you have to try it yourself. When it comes to my hobbies they seem to be scattered all over the place, I enjoy troubleshooting things (Mostly items that have PCBs), I sketch once in a while, I do a little bit of cooking, and I sometimes work on my car. As of right now, I'm working as a maintenance technician but I hope one day I could also inspire and motivate others.

My Wikipedia interests

edit

If I am ever active on Wikipedia I would most likely see myself doing some editing on other wiki pages. And If anything maybe one day I will create my very own.

Article Evaluation

edit

I have been messing around with RC cars for quite a while now. I've had chances to take apart a few, fix them and sometimes sell them. I decided to look up on Wikipedia my favorite RC brand; Kyosho. This is a Japanese company that makes quality products so I want the Wikipedia page to be well written. I found three things that caught my eye: no information on the types of engines, citations are not up to date, and lack of references.

Lack of information

edit

I was quite surprised that Wikipedia's page didn't have any information on the engines since an RC car can't run without one. And I know for a fact that I have a vintage GS11X engine so a line up of the engines and some information would've been nice to see. Currently, you can go on Kyosho's official website and see their current line up of engines.

Citations

edit

The citations on Wikipedia's page are outdated, both websites are from 2009 and have not been changed since. Kyosho is a popular brand in the RC world so there should be plenty of information out there.

Lack of References

edit

I've noticed that there are only two references on this Wikipedia page, and unfortunately only one seems to work. I was expecting a large list of references from all the information that was put on the page.

Summary

edit

To be honest, I was expecting better quality, but then again it could've been worse. The Kyosho Wikipedia page does have plenty of information on the types of cars that are out there but unfortunately nothing on the engines. The page also lacks references with only one that works and it's outdated. I think with a few tweaks the page could be really good.
