The 2015 Indonesia Super League season (also known as the 2015 QNB League season for sponsorship reasons)[1] was the seventh season of Indonesia Super League, the top-tier football in Indonesia since its establishment in 2008. It began on 4 April and scheduled to end on 23 November 2015.[2] Fixtures for the 2015 season were announced on 4 March 2015.[3] Persib were the defending champion, while Pusamania Borneo and Persiwa entered as the promoted teams from the 2014 Premier Division.

Due to a ban by the sports minister on PSSI running any football competition, the season was abandoned and declared void on 2 May 2015.[4]

Changes from last season

edit

For this season, the league back to using a single region format and would be participated by 20 teams.[5] But after two teams were excluded before the season for failing to comply with financial and infrastructure requirements, the league only competed by 18 teams.[6]

The season would have some changes including the implementation of three different kick-off time for weekend matches, which are 15:30, 19:00 and 21:00. There would be also only two weekday matches scheduled.[7]

The quota for foreign players was reduced from four foreign players (three players from any countries + a player from AFC countries) to three foreign players from any country.[8]

Teams

edit

Twenty teams would competed in the league – the top eighteen teams from the previous season and the two teams promoted from the Premier Division. The promoted teams were Pusamania Borneo and Persiwa. They replaced Persepam Madura United, Persita, Persijap, and Persiba Bantul. But Persiwa and Persik were excluded before the season after failing to comply with financial and infrastructure requirements. Therefore, only eighteen teams competed in the league.
