Notes
edit- 1972 AGU/PGA scheduling issues; AGU allocated dates for PGA events either side of the Australian Open & threatened to ban all prize-money event from affiliated courses if they were not accepted, effectively ending professional tournaments & pro-ams [3][4][5]
- Ban ran from 1 March through until 21 April when the PGA agreed to AGU scheduling through to the end of 1974 [6]
- 1972 major tournaments saved after dispute with sponsors with PGA wanting control [7]
- 1972 proposed Order of Merit [8]
- Order of Merit system introduced in 1973. [9]
- 1986 season ended with West Australian Open. Change to end with Australian Open thereafter. [10]
- Therefore New Zealand events were part of the following years schedule
- Tour names...
- PGA Tour of Australia, aka "Australia – New Zealand Tour"
- PGA Tour of Australasia from 1991, following addition of events in Asia
- Second tier tour
- 1994 Foundation Tour starts
- 2000 Development Tour starts [11]
- 2004 Von Nida Tour starts
- 2009 merged back into single tour
