This is a project to co-ordinate the efforts of people interested in local history, biography of faintly notable people, and genealogy. Editors using claims of non-notability or non-verifiability or lack of reliable sources, tend to zealously cause pages of local historical interest to get deleted. This project was started on July 20, 2006 to combat that.
Too often old editors attempt to bamboozle new editors by redefining notability as they want. Notability is a *guideline* only. It is not consensus. In particular note this entry under the notability of people:
- Persons achieving renown or notoriety for their involvement in newsworthy events

editIf anyone wants to create a userbox for us, go for it. That might be a good way to get more members until we can reach a critical point. Thanks. Wjhonson 02:48, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
