My name is Horst Wolfgang Boger. I was born 1947 in South Western Germany. I'm living in Berlin.

Since 1961 or 1962 I do like Jazz. My first favorites were Quincy Jones (The Birth of a Band), Miles Davis (Birth of the Cool, Milestones), Albert Mangelsdorff (Tension, Now Jazz Ramwong), Klaus Doldinger (Jazz - Made in Germany), Donald Byrd (A New Perspective), Andrew Hill (Judgment!, Point of Departure), Art Blakey (Moanin, The Big Beat), Horace Silver (Song for My Father), John Coltrane (A Love Supreme), Cannonball Adderley (), Jimmy Smith (Midnight Special, The Cat).

But my most important teacher is ... Peter Erskine. Erskine not also is a very gifted drummer, but also an eminent pedagogue. Listen to him, look at him, relax, put your shoulders down, think, feel, be impressed - and learn what music is about.
