About me
editWesley is a skilled computer scientist with a specialization in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning, with a particular focus on natural language processing and computer vision. His work is driven by a commitment to AI and ML advocacy, aiming to develop transformative solutions and expand technological literacy within the community.
Wesley’s journey in machine learning began with the MIT Sana program, where he cultivated foundational skills that propelled him to win the 2019 Huawei Seeds for the Future program in Uganda. Currently, he serves as a machine learning engineer, where he combines technical expertise with a mission-driven approach as the founder of “AI for Uganda”—a non-profit dedicated to developing AI-powered solutions tailored to the Ugandan market. Through this initiative, Wesley also offers training and skill-building programs to empower young people with essential AI knowledge.
As an active community organizer for GDG Cloud Mbarara, Wesley fosters collaborative learning and community growth. He regularly shares insights through workshops, talks, and code samples, and writes articles on platforms like Hashnode, Medium, and Dev.to, covering topics in data visualization, machine learning, and deep learning. His passion for teaching and knowledge-sharing continues to inspire and equip the next generation of AI practitioners.
