Background

Hi! This is Xiaoyi, a senior undergraduate student at Marquette University majoring in Biological Sciences. I come from Huizhou city, Guangdong province, China. I am now applying to graduate programs. I have a broad research interests, which include genetics, neuroscience, cellular biology, and structural biology, etc. My short-term goal is to identify my favorable research direction during the future graduate training. My long-term goal is to be a scientist to make a contribution to human health. In my spare time, I enjoy cycling and hiking. I am not a big fan to food, but I love fruits, such as durian, carambola, grapefruit, pineapple, and watermelon, etc. Cats are my favorite animals. However, I want to keep a pet spider in the future.
