Benedict Cumberbatch Filmography
editHello, I'm sorry if made a mistake by putting rowspans. But could you explain to me why there can't be rowspans please ? You can find rowspans in most other filmographies. Spectritus (talk) 18:20, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
- Hi! I, too, used to use rowspans, for many years until a senior editor told me that they affect screenreaders and are not essential to articles or lists. Can they be used in year columns? Yes. Are they required or an improvement to the article? No. Especially if the list was to become a FL then rowspans are heavily frowned upon. They are in other articles but only because editors continue to add them in - I'm sure as a good edit but I've been told to not use them for the reasons above so I try to undo them when someone tries to add them back in. LADY LOTUS • TALK 18:26, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
- OK, I understand, and I'm sorry for my mistake. Could you just tell me what a "FL" is please ? Spectritus (talk) 18:25, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
- Sure! It's a WP:Featured list, "Featured lists are what we believe to be the best lists on the English Wikipedia....lists are reviewed as featured list candidates for usefulness, completeness, accuracy, neutrality, style and prose." Any page that has the little brown star in the top right of the page means that that page is a Featured page, it's the best of the best. LADY LOTUS • TALK 20:02, 19 September 2023 (UTC)

Ben Mendelsohn theatre entry
editI saw you reverted my edit on "Short and Sweet". Apologies - I think I accidentally copied and pasted the wrong reference - it wasn't meant to link to Wikipedia - it was originally meant to link to an article citing which exact show in the Short and Sweet festival that Ben performed in. Short and Sweet itself isn't the play - it's actually just the festival. I'll revert with the proper reference this time. Feel free to inbox me with any issues. I'm the person who originally added the Theatre entries on his page 😊 Missclaireallen (talk) 07:39, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
- No worries, the new entry you did with the reference is great :) LADY LOTUS • TALK 14:19, 21 October 2023 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Good Housekeeping January 2015 issue.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Good Housekeeping January 2015 issue.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:17, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
Rowspans on Robert Downey Jr. filmography
editI noticed that you removed the rowspans for Robert Downey Jr. filmography, stating it does not make improvements. However, it adheres to appropriate format per WP:Filmography and the majority of actors wikipedia page use it. Please advise. Wheezythewave (talk) 20:28, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
- Hi! While rowspans are allowed, they are not MOS so they are not required plus they make it more difficult for screenreaders to process. Especially on a Featured List page, they are frowned upon as FL are the best of the best so they were removed as they are not an improvement to the article. Robert Duvall page
editHello, I am just wondering why there has to be so much wasted space above the filmography table. I moved the jpegs to make better usage of the space, as there is so much empty space with the three jpegs all on the right side, one above another. I'm just curious as to why they were reverted. Thank you for your time. Lime green k (talk) 06:04, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Lime, typically you don't put images on the left side of tables, it looks weird and pushes the table out. Per MOS:IMAGELOC, most images should be on the right side of the page, which is the default placement. Left-aligned images may disturb the layout of bulleted lists and similar structures that depend on visual uniformity, e.g. by pushing some items on such lists further inward. And with MOS:PORTRAIT, people should "look" toward the text. So the photos are fine as is, but I appreciate you wanting to make it look better :) LADY LOTUS • TALK 22:12, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for the reply. Sorry, not trying to be a pain. I moved the images because their default spacing forced the table so low on the page; by moving the images upward, the table below could be moved upward as well so that it is more noticeable for viewers (so people should "look" toward the text). Maybe it looked differently than on my laptop, did the image change alter how the table was viewed relative to the rest of the article? Did the images appear to be on the left side of the filmography table? I always preview what it looks like (and view it after publishing too) so that it looks well-spaced and "normal", and on my laptop the images appeared above the table, not next to it (left or right-aligned). Just curious if my visuals are off and thank you again! Lime green k (talk) 07:31, 19 January 2024 (UTC)
- Yes they were to the left of the table, when you do the "left" direction to thumb images it'll go to the left side and not above, it's uncommon for images to go above a table as well. Hope that helps lol LADY LOTUS • TALK 16:38, 19 January 2024 (UTC)

List of James McAvoy performances
editWould you be intrested in co-nominating List of James McAvoy performances for FL. I worked to source everything, and I would nominate it myself but due to the rules of the wikicup I can only have one featured nomination at a time with the exception of co-noms. Seeing as we are the top two editors on the article would you like to co-nom? Questions? four Olifanofmrtennant (she/her) 20:14, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
- I’d love to :) Nice work on the sourcing. Has this gone through peer review yet? LADY LOTUS • TALK 20:21, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
- I was planning on it when my current peer review. But I didnt identify any issues with the article and was planning on fixing all the sources before I submit the nomination. Questions? four Olifanofmrtennant (she/her) 20:26, 22 February 2024 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Loki Laufeyson Earth 616.jpg
editThank you for uploading File:Loki Laufeyson Earth 616.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. ✗plicit 14:17, 10 October 2024 (UTC)
