Wajma Mohseni (وژمه محسنی - Wazhmah Mōhsāni), is director of Marketing at Moby Media Group, Afghanistan's largest media company with holdings in broadcast television, radio, print, production, online news services, directories, IT, and retail. In 2004, she left an established marketing and e-commerce career in Australia to manage MMG’s marketing and branding efforts in Afghanistan and the surrounding region.

Early life and education

Wajma Mohseni was born on June 1, 19__. Having lived previously in Afghanistan, Japan and Australia, she is fluent in English and Dari. Mohseni gained a Bachelor of Business degree with a specialization in Marketing from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia.

Mohseni's career began in Melbourne, Australia and included work for corporations such as NEC Australia, Telstra's Sensis, and the Australian internet startup, Virtual Communities. She is the author of ‘eBusiness made Easy’, a small to medium business guide that reached over 25,000 businesses around Australia (source).

Global Media

As a major business leader in Afghanistan's emerging media industry, Mohseni led the brand launch, development and extension of Moby Media Group’s Tolo TV, Arman FM and Lemar TV brands, reaching millions of viewers in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan and other surrounding countries. She has served on selection committees and boards such as the Afghanistan International Chamber of Commerce (AICC) and the Afghanistan Women Entrepreneurship program. Leading the development and servicing of Tolo's advertising clients, Mohseni guided strategy and launch of first-time broadcast advertising campaigns for a multitude of Afghan companies, international corporations, NGO's, governmental agencies within Afghanistan. In the realm of creative leadership, she was instrumental in the development of the internationally recognized (source) and highly popular tv series Afghan star, from 2006 - present (source).

Mohseni founded Lapis in 2004, a full service marketing communications and advertising agency under MMG’s parentage. Mohseni was a key actor in the launch of MMG's office and operations in Dubai, UAE. She has contributed to management of MMG's strategic relationships with global media partners in the US, France and various other countries.
