I am interested in all things housing and urban, and their intersection with political economy and history. I come from the Arab world and have lived in many cities in and outside of it, and speak 2.5 languages.

- Administrative divisions based on primary sources:
- Local Administration Law 49/1979, and other laws and decrees from the free to access legislative portals cc.gov.eg/legislations and manshurat.org
- Governorate websites for division names and maps, for example Cairo.gov.eg, Giza.gov.eg, ...
- General Organisation for Physical Planning maps and reports.
- Poulation from the latest (2017) census and previous ones from the CAPMAS digital map and database.
- Urban and architectural history from credible scholarly or media sources, especially contemporary local or regional publications and/or archives for example:
- Majallat al-‘imara
- Alam al-Benaa
- Medina
- Al-Madaq (historic map archive)
