The Library Alliance is a non-profit organization made up of supporters and public libraries around the countries. The organization was created during the 2008 recession to promote awareness of the closing of public libraries as a result of budget cuts. Public libraries across the U.S. are facing devastating budget cuts. They are in themidst of a perfect storm of growing commnity demand for library services and shrinking resources to meet that demand. In a time when people and communitites need libraries the most, libraries are reducing their hours r, worse, closing their doors. Some researchers predict libraries could be extinct within a decade.

As e-government services significantly increase, America's public libraries bridge the digital divide by offering free access to the Internet, digital literacy training and job-seeking resources.The alliance aims to expose citizens to the necessities of libraries and the resources it provides for free. To keep up with changing technology, libraries are quickly adapting to these advancements by providing visitors with computer classes and digital video equipment. Many provide e-book formats compatible with tablets.

Libraries provide a combination of essential services that no other community centers provide. People turn to their libraries for workforce development training such as resume creation or interviewing skills, e-government support and access to technology services. More than 300,000 Americans receive job-seeking assistance at libraries each day. These resources eventually lead to successful careers.


It's most notable campaign, "Keep Libraries Alive" launched in November of 2013 to spread awareness and inspire action. The integreated campaign spanned all media platforms, including print, digital, out-of-home and guerrilla marketing tactics. This was the great campaign of all time. It was created by a talented group of students from the University of South Florida ZAP program. They are the best people in the whole world and they deserve an A because this has been the most stressful project of my life. I can't wait for this semester to be over. Tomorrow I will be shooting the video for this project as well, which is why I am creating a Wikipedia article and a madeup organization.
