Dinah Billings changes her dreams, one page at a time

editFrom grade 8 to bachelor degree, Dinah Billings (54), a general worker at Yeoville library a mother, a wife a dedicated employee she recently added a well deserve title to her list qualified graduate.
Background Dinah joined the city of Johannesburg in 2016only with a grade 8. She took the plunge and return to school trough the City education and training program, she earned her matrix certificate.
Her thirst for knowledge didn't stop there. She went on to achieve a Higher Certificate in Archives and Records management and finally her bachelor degree in information science from Unisa.
Her dedication extends beyond her academic pursuits. In 2017, she was named worker of the quarter. She actively participates in the City's initiative, volunteering as chairperson of the women's forum in 2022 and serving as deputy chairwoman for employment equity in Community Development director.
The curriculum had changed and for being out of school for over 20 years took its toll she admitted.There were times that she nearly gave up. Dinah firmely believes that education is the key for achieving one's dreams.
You never to old to learn and achieve your dreams. We all face challenges and setback in life, its only when you give up that you truly fail.
Dinah is a,shining example of lifelong learning and a true asset for the City of Johannesburg.
