It was released by G.O.O.D. Music and Burbank Entertainment on April 28, 2022. The album mainly consists of songs and recycled demos from the following released and unreleased Kanye albums listed: 808s & Heartbreak, good ass job / My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy / Yeezus / Yeezus 2 / so help me god / swish / waves / The Life of Pablo / Love everyone / ye, Kids See Ghosts, Yandhi and Donda 2

untitled unmastered | ye’s version received universal acclaim from critics, selling 729,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release, along with 167,000 pure album sales. while also becoming one of Kanye West's number-one albums. It was eventually certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and sold two million copies in the United States by late 2022. Three singles were released in promotion of the album, West also supported the album with the β€œuntitled unmastered | ye’s version listening party” from early April 2022 to late May 2022.

Because of its exclusivity through a Google Drive link, it wasn’t available on any streaming services. then on May 31, 2022. West eventually released it on Bandcamp
