Zhaofeng He received the B.E. degree in electronic engineering and information science from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), in 2005. He is currently a PhD candidate in the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CASIA).

He is studying pattern recognition and computer vision under the supervision of Professor [1] at the Center of Biometrics and Security Research (CBSR) and the National Laboratory of Pattern Recognition (NLPR) of CASIA.

His research interests include biometrics, image processing, pattern recognition, and computer vision. He is a student member of the IEEE.

Research

His research interests include Image Processing, Pattern Recognition and Machine Learning.

Recently, Zhaofeng focuses on biometrics and in particular Iris Recognition, includingIris Detection, Iris Segmentation, Feature Extraction, Classifier Designing.


Since 2005, Zhaofeng has developed many working algorithms for iris recognition. For instance, Robust Iris Detection based on Adaboost; An Accurate and Robust Iris Segmentation Method via Pulling and Pushing; Similarity Oriented Boosting for Regional Ordinal Measure based Iris Recognition; etc. Now, he is developing a new Adaboost method which is particularly useful for robust object detection in iris recognition at a distance.
