Afer graduating University, I spent several years on a study tour of Italy, Austria, Czechoslovakia, Greece and Germany. On return to Serbia, I began a career in architecture and started the frst private atelier for architecture and painting in Belgrade, Serbia. Starting in 1984, my professional career in painting began. I embraced abstract expressionism as my style, which always seemed the most natural way to express and translate my feelings and thoughts onto canvas.

In the early 90’s, as an established painter, I began a series of paintings under the musical infuence of Gustav Mahler’s music. I re-visited this muse more recently, painting larger scale pieces using various scores of Mahler’s work. Since then, I’ve applied the same method of translating classical music to canvas with many diferent composers.

AUTHOR STATEMENT In search of harmony I try to express - by way of fine art - the permeation among the dimensions of space and time, color and sound, painting and music.

Paintings are created by conversion of the emotional charge found within one musical part through unrestrained application of color onto the canvas with an effect of uncontrollable development that creates the elementary being of my work. By intervening reflexively later I end up the creative process.

My works are necesarily abstract as such is the music in its essence.

If symphonies of Gustav Mahler could be recognized in the exhibited works, it would mean that musical accords are ringing out as the bloodstream of artwork.
