My name shouldn't be hard to guess, but I go by Zimriel online. I constructed it in early 1996, based on Zimri-Lim of Mari, whose name meant "Lim is my protection" in Akkadian. I figured that Zimri-`El would be the Canaanite equivalent; at least, it's a middle road between Zimri-Yahu (or Zimriah, by the King James Version) and Zimri-Ba`al.
I was born in London and I've been all over the place since then.
I've taken classes in Greek, Latin, French, and (now) Arabic over the decades. I can still muddle through on the reading, to various degrees, but I can't speak any of them.
I have a BA in Ancient Mediterranean Civilisations, Mathematics, and Statistics from Rice University in Houston. But I never claimed proficiency in Statistics and my Math is decaying.
My first love has always been the ancient Near East; I expect to be concentrating mainly on that here.
