I'm currently a History student at Durham University specialising in East and Southeast Asian cultural histories and Buddhist history/philosophy. I have a strong personal interest in Chinese Mahayana Buddhist philosophy particularly Chan, Pure Land and Huayan philosophy, as well as the development of Buddhist practice, and regional differences across China and wider East Asia. My other interests include Islamic philosophy, Islamicate architecture, the history of the wider Islamicate world and tea cultures around the world.
I wrote my undergraduate dissertation on the Kingdoms of Ava and Hanthawaddy and the role of Buddhism in each especially in statebuilding, governance and kingship.
