I started by editing the Changsha article, which describes my hometown. Lack of resources in English, I edited by translating from the Mandarin content, which happens to once be a featured article in Chinese Wikipedia. Once I started editing and pay close attention to the structures of pages, I can clearly tell the difference between sections. Some sections are well written and backed up with resources, while some appeared to be rather arbitrary and written in colloquial tone.

Additionally The English version of the article has very similar structure with the Chinese one. Yet the French version is rather more independent, less contributed and has also much less resources. This might be a result of the small popularity of article and the fact that it describes another nation. All my changes persisted, I didn't interact with other users

I begin to look at some US oriented wiki pages and updated and modified some links and references on Chip Kidd.

interestingly I also discovered an intense conflict raised in talk page, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Reactions_to_the_poisoning_of_Sergei_and_Yulia_Skripal

For translation work, I had a concerns on the references. Since Wikipedia is based on references and resources, I was worried if I should try finding resources in the target language or merely quote resources from another language. From my observation, all pages I've viewed so far had different resources between different langauges

I looked at Wikipedia's translate us page and look forward to translate more Mandarin and Japanese content in English

this week I tried to play the role of technical editor, I started to look at a few Japanese novel articles and spotted many grammatical mistakes.

The sentence flow of these articles is choppy, and some of the sections have inappropriate content, summarizing plot in character introduction even include spoilers.

I tried translate and add content to the Chinese IDEO article. As I was translating the content and adding the citation, I checked the each link before I copy and past them onto my sandbox article.

Many of the links, turns out, are not appropriate(many quoted from blogs) and it gave me a lot of trouble translating since now I have to find new reliable sources before I can update the article
