Infobox settlement/ukr

They are different

I find Category:Populated places in Ukraine and see, that many articles are without Infoboxes. Then I try to use Template:Infobox settlement. Then I see, that some parameters are repeating for articles Category:Populated places in Ukraine and some parameters of Template:Infobox settlement do not use.--Амба (talk) 11:11, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Why not have this one call the parent template, rather than simply duplicating the code. What features are missing in the parent template? Where was this discussed? Also, what in particular was missing from Location map that required that one to be forked? Please suggest changes/improvements at Template talk:Location map and Template talk:Infobox settlement. • Anyone can create new template without any discussion. Template:Infobox settlement is protected. I can't edit. Template:Infobox settlement include Template:Location map. Template:Infobox settlement/ukr include Template:Location map2. Template:Location map do not work with location map templates with x, y parameters. Location map: European Russia?

Hi Амба,

I noticed you had done the “Location map+ |Russia”, and decided to write to you.

Since the FIFA World Cup hosts were announced yesterday, I took a look at the 2018 FIFA World Cup page, and was not very happy with the map, which had been done on the basis of your “Location map+ |Russia”. The reason for this is that all of the proposed host cities are in European Russia, and the in present map the locations are rather crowded, and one does not get a good idea of where the host cities are located.

I thought that if there was a map showing European Russia, things would be much more clear and the map would be more informative.

Do you think that you could do a “Location map+ | European Russia”, which could be used for the 2018 FIFA World Cup page?

Or would you have any other ideas on how to imporeve the present map?

Just incidentally, does your username contain a reference to Dersu Uzala?
