I noticed that you have posted comments to the page Common Era in a language other than English. At the English-language Wikipedia, we try to use English for all comments. Posting all comments in English makes it easier for other editors to join the conversation and help you. If you cannot avoid using another language, then please provide a translation into English, if you can. If you cannot provide a translation, please go to the list of Wikipedias, look in the list for a Wikipedia that is in your language, and edit there instead of here. For more details, see Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines. Thank you. NebY (talk) 08:41, 10 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

For your information, the formal presentation (in English) of dates using the AD notation is AD nnnn. BC is the other way round (nnnn BC). Why? No idea! --𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 09:41, 10 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thank you very much! I made the change because I saw several times that the AD is in the opposite order and I never came across the correct order; So this is probably a common mistake, but I still had to do the bare minimum to read the article on AD before editing changes in a language that is not my native language. And again, thank you very much for taking the time to clarify my mistake to me! דג ירוק (talk) 11:22, 10 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
My pleasure. Your mistake is a very common one. 200 BC, 200 AM, 200 AH but AD 200. Come back in a 100 years time and I expect that the convention will have changed. 𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 13:46, 10 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Generally speaking, Wikipedia already accepts both AD nnn and the more recent nnn AD per MOS:ERA; it would be disruptive to start changing one to the other. In the particular case of the Common Era article, we're comparing two systems and explicitly referring to the full term "Anno Domini", so when we give examples of the same year being described in each system, we want to be clear that we do indeed mean the system in which the full term is Anno Domini nnn and the classic and in some eyes only correct abbreviated notation is AD nnn.
