Neil, would you mind if I changed the first sentence of Betacommand's warning with this template, and have the rest of your comment underneath? It just seems more formal that way. .:Alex:. 16:17, 18 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hey Alex. I would rather you didn't - see WP:Do not template the regulars. It's not policy, but it is sensible. A personally written warning is much less patronising. The templates are great for new editors or vandals or whatever, but are not advisable for long-term contributors. Hope that makes sense. Neıl 17:30, 18 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:GTAVCS gangs Sharks.png)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:GTAVCS gangs Sharks.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 04:58, 19 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi - apologies, I didn't see that archive discussion page. Since six pictures is right on the borderline of fair-use overuse, I'm happy to let them stay. Cheers, Black Kite 09:30, 19 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Reporting Vandilism

edit

Hi, I'm a bit of a new user and was just wondering about vandalism. I found some on the Sunset Blvd article, and reverted it back to the previous version. Is that all I need to do? Thanks. --Tyler Gothier (talk) 03:38, 20 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yeah that's all that's needed. Although if they persist in vandalising pages you can warn them and if they persist further then report them to administrators. See Wikipedia:Vandalism if you need more information. .:Alex:. 09:13, 20 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

I undid your edit on GTA IV where you removed the website information. It was part of the Promotion section and therefore i think it was relevant and encyclopaedic. Please discuss with me on the GTA IV talk page if you want. :) ChimpanzeeUK (talk) 12:20, 21 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Art in All of us

edit

Hi Alex,

I think I contacted through an other page (I'm getting lost at this point). Anyway,I've created a article on wikipedia for the first time tonight and I'm experiencing a few problem:

1/ Title: the says "users:Patsolutelyfabulous" instead of "Art in All of Us (AiA)"

2/ I can't find my article on wikipedia when I type in "Art in All of Us" (I guess it has to do with the title!?)

3/ links 2 and 3 (bottom of the page) do not show up.

Can you help me please?

Thank you Alex.

Cheers Alex, you are a life saver;0)

edit

Hmmm, well it seems like I talked too quickly...I still can't find the page when I look for it in wikipedia;0( I guess once it's on wikipedia, if you type "art in all of us" in google, you should have a link to wikipedia too, right? Sorry Alex, but I'm a bit of a useless user;0) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.166.107.223 (talk) 19:44, 3 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Letter to Rockstar

edit

Hi .:Alex:.. Any news on asking Rockstar for rights to images from the game for use on the List of gangs in Grand Theft Auto series page? I'm curious to hear what they say. EganioTalk 21:23, 5 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ah. I apologise, but some things unfortunately came up and I did not have the chance to finalise everything. I want to show my request on the taskforce first, as everyone's input would be most valuable. Once everyone is happy with it, I will send it off and the first news I hear I will let you guys know. Once again, I apologise as I know time is of the essence with images on Wikipedia, but I'll finish it as quickly as possible. .:Alex:. 16:53, 6 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:GTAIV in-game screenshot.png

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:GTAIV in-game screenshot.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Cavenbame parlez 04:41, 24 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:GTAIV in-game screenshot.png

edit

Thank you for uploading Image:GTAIV in-game screenshot.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Cavenbame parlez 18:20, 24 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
