Organized Labour September Editing Event
[edit]
You're invited to join the Organized Labour community editing event, a cross-wiki event taking place throughout September 2026!
The campaign brings together Wikimedians interested in improving coverage of organised labour, workers, trade unions, and labour history. We have confirmed collaborations with Wikipedia language editions in English, Dutch, Persian, Serbo-Croatian and French. If you want to add other language editions or other wiki projects you are strongly encouraged to do so! This event spans geography and languages!
This is a one-time invitation. You're receiving it because you previously signed a petition related to Wiki Workers United (WWU). We hope you'll join us!

- Thank you very much! Trying to get my user page looking nice, it had been disorganised and out of date for a while. Cheers to you as well!
Shield\\ |T| - |C| - Solidarity \\ 16:49, 19 August 2026 (UTC)- Most welcome. Regarding your page, you gon' get there. Keep fixing it bit by bit. Anyways, nice time! Volten001 ☎ 03:46, 20 August 2026 (UTC)
Hello .sh1eldo7, I understand that you were dealing with what you perceived as a form of vandalism in the article about Chidimma Adetshina, but it's not that simple, and you have repeatedly restored content someone else may have objected to in good faith.
When in doubt:
- WP:3RRNO #7 applies to their editing,
- WP:3RRNO #4 is limited to obvious cases and doesn't apply to your editing,
- WP:VNOT applies, and
- WP:BLPRESTORE restricts you from making even one of these reverts.
Unless you are 200% sure (and there was no reason to be so in this case!), please don't ever do four of these.
Best regards,

- I don't want to start anything, but I am genuinely curious: on Special:Diff/1370383630, does this not constitute unexplained content removal and an insufficiently sourced BLP birthplace change? A perfectly good lead was completely removed, including all refs, replaced with an unpunctuated MOS-contrary poorly formatted sentence fragment, and then a "Controversies" section was edited to add a source from a South African tabloid, replacing a source from Al Jazeera that states she was born in Johannesburg, a source from the Independent that states she was born in Johannesburg, and a source from a Nigerian newspaper (allegedly by the editor in question her birth country, so shouldn't they, of all sources, be one to state that she was born in Nigeria?) that states she was born in South Africa. In fact, even the source that the editor themselves added to the article stated that Chidimma was born in South Africa, not Nigeria.
- I understand where you're coming from with Special:Diff/1370397673 in particular, and in my defence, that edit was two hours after the previous identical edit, and I wouldn't have re-reverted it had I remembered that it was identical; I am usually overcautious with 3RR. Otherwise, these edits (and forgive me if this is taken as assuming bad faith, but this is my experience with edits like this) appear to be cheap, poorly disguised xenophobic/racist edits that are indisputably factually incorrect. I left the editor several messages on their talk page; they did not respond once. We shouldn't bite the newcomers, but we also shouldn't suicidally and totally accept edits that are made by editors with malicious intentions who like to play dumb. At the very least, those edits should've been discussed on the talk page, or even the editor's talk page, where 3 separate editors including an admin told them to stop.
- I apologise for the rant, and I really do respect you and do not want this to boil over into an argument or some sort of personal attack exchange, but I was and am 200% sure that the edits in question were not only vandalism, but racist, povpushing vandalism.
