A message for the next person who's gonna use this IP
editCrazy that the last time someone edited using this IP was in May of 2012! Here I am sitting here writing this in December 2023, a little over a decade later. I wonder what the person who first edited using this IP is doing now, what they look like, and why they decided to edit Wikipedia nearly 11 years ago? Perhaps editing Wikipedia was a hobby of sorts? Would they even be alive today? What if they died of natural causes? or they got COVID? Do they still contribute to Wikipedia, but with an account? or did they just leave the project all-together? Were they married? Do they have a family now? What if they were a teenager 11 years ago, and now they are an adult, possibly fresh out of college looking for a job, or maybe they got married, have a nice job, settled down, and are expecting one on the way. Maybe they're still figuring out their life? Who knows? I myself as a teen have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do in the future, only the future knows what's to come is what I say ;) It's nice to live in the moment because you never know what tomorrow holds, maybe it can be better than today, or worse, who knows? But its important that we learn from our past mistakes, and improve. Improvement comes with time of course, and it is gradual, but when you improve you feel so much better about yourself! That's the beautiful thing about being able to view past contributions on Wikipedia, it lets you get a sense of the editor, like what kind of editor they are, are they a vandal fighter? or do they handle administrative things? or they just edit Wikipedia for fun as a hobby, and share their expertise on topics that interest them. I also feel like you can see how a user has grown, from an inexperienced editor, who had to be guided by a more experienced editor at times, to an editor who helps novices and puts them on the right track, by giving them the push they needed. Maybe they were a vandal, who decided to reform and contribute for the good of Wikipedia. My point is that it's wonderful to have this insight into the past of someone else, and be able to wonder so many different things. While I would love to edit Wikipedia, I just do not have the time right now, but maybe 50 years in the future when I'm hopefully retired, I'd edit as a hobby. Who knows if Wikipedia would be around then? Maybe we could edit and access Wikipedia using our mind, or the internet might be obsolete by then. Who knows? Only time can tell! In 2012 physical books and libraries were still very much a thing, while they still exist now, their existence is threatened by digital formats, which is sad to see, and know that years from now children will be growing up without being able to experience the magic of a book or a library, and instead everything will be online. If you've read my rambling until here, I thank you, and request you to leave your own message below, or just say hi. I wonder how long it will be until someone else edits using this IP.... 1 year? 5 years? 10 years? Maybe never? As I always say, who knows? Only time can tell ;) 108.49.72.125 (talk) 23:25, 12 December 2023 (UTC)
consider creating an account
editif you revert edits, it's good practice to warn users, and it's a whole lot easier with Wikipedia:Twinkle or Wikipedia:Ultraviolet than manually adding a template each time.
happy editing! 🇺🇲JayCubby✡ please edit my user page! Talk 23:08, 11 April 2024 (UTC)
- sorry, my bad, I mostly just read wikipedia, and if i find something weird or something that needs to be fixed I usually just correct it by using my IP, so i really haven't the need for an account. I forgot to warn that user, actually in fact i was in the process of reporting them, but ill warn them now and keep that in mind next time, thanks. 108.49.72.125 (talk) 23:11, 11 April 2024 (UTC)
- No worries, and thank you for correcting the edit. Cheers! 🇺🇲JayCubby✡ please edit my user page! Talk 23:18, 11 April 2024 (UTC)

editHi, just wondering why the list of notable wearers was removed, and the list of fictional characters in films who wore one was retained. Thanks, Bretonbanquet (talk) 15:17, 27 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hey, so apparently adding notable wearers to the article is unencyclopedic, so I removed it, and I believe the list of fictional people who wore the watch goes under pop culture which is acceptable 108.49.72.125 (talk) 14:46, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
- Seems very odd to me – where did you see that including notable wearers was unencyclopedic? Most or all of that info was sourced. Bretonbanquet (talk) 20:44, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
- sorry for the late reply, but per this diff @Magnolia677 states its unencyclopedic and tells me to refrain from adding notable wearers 108.49.72.125 (talk) 04:18, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
- That's okay, no problem. The guideline Magnolia677 has cited doesn't appear to have anything to do with lists of notable wearers of watches, so I've asked them what they meant in their edit summary. Bretonbanquet (talk) 13:12, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
