Hello, 11raccoon1, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions, especially what you did for LGBT rights in Croatia. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

As a footnote, I removed the image you added in your edit. I don't think it's relevant to the topic really. You can read WP:IMAGE RELEVANCE for tips on when to include images. Additionally, when adding images, make sure they do not disrupt the flow of the article and are properly placed. Your image was a little low and flowed into the next heading. Good luck and thanks for your contributions so far! Jargon777 Leave a message 15:46, 30 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

OK thanks. I did create a gallery though. Hope that's OK. They are all very important people when we talk about LGBT rights in Croatia so I thought it would be good to have their pictures here. It makes article look better and more interesting to read.

The problem I had was they were all politicians, and there isn't a lot written about them. Maybe if you could trim it down to one really important politician. Pictures of protests or demonstrations would be better suited to the article, or maybe a photo of the leader of one of the movements that has helped gain rights for LGBTQ people. When you add an image it should be strongly related, if a politician isn't a vocal supporter I would question the need for an image, especially in the absence of a section about them. I'm not Croatian though, so I don't know how much these politicians actually did for LGBTQ rights. There are tons of people that support these rights, but not every one of them needs an image in the article. It's up to you though, I won't remove the images if you add them, but when people clean up the article they may eventually get removed. Jargon777 Leave a message 17:00, 30 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Ah right, I understand. I did leave two of them who have been very much involved in supporting gay rights through last 12 years, so hopefully they will stay there.

Looks better. I also think there might be some WP:NPOV issues with the section you added on IVF. I mentioned it on the article's talk page, but since you wrote the section I'm also going to bring this up with you. Basically, you make some allegations about HDZ that aren't really cited and appear to push the POV that this party is propped by the Church. References that you add should also be next to sentences or paragraphs that take data from those places (see WP:Inline Citations and WP:Referencing for beginners) and should be reliable sources. Inferring things that are not in your citations (such as allegations that the Church is influencing policy) shouldn't be included if there are no sources to verify the claim. Jargon777 Leave a message 17:38, 30 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

I understand. I am working on it now and will modify paragraph according to the resources I have. Thanx

As you can see I have modified paragraph about IVF and made sure that all the statements have sources, so I think there should be no questions about it now. Thanx

Yes it's much better now. I cleaned up the grammar and references and took off the tag. You can look over my changes since I removed a little content too. Jargon777 Leave a message 15:15, 31 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited LGBT rights in Croatia, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page 2000s (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Replaceable fair use File:Split Pride 2013.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Split Pride 2013.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 18:17, 11 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we would ask that you assume good faith while interacting with other editors, which you did not on LGBT rights in Croatia.   Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you.

Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to LGBT rights in Croatia, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you.

Please remember to assume good faith when dealing with other editors, which you did not do on LGBT rights in Croatia. Please do not react angrily to opposition of the ideology that you support. Thank you.Plarem (User talk) 11:10, 22 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.   Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia, as you did at LGBT rights in Croatia, you may be blocked from editing. Thank you. – Plarem (User talk) 21:55, 22 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 48 hours for edit warring and violating the three-revert rule, as you did at LGBT rights in Croatia. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.  Bbb23 (talk) 22:40, 22 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

@Bbb23: I would like to highlight the pattern of disruptive and inflammatory behaviour by Plarem that may have led 11raccoon1 to overreact. Plarem appears to have been skirting the edit-warring guidelines over a large number LGBT related articles in a very short time, refer to the extensive evidence at Wikipedia:Dispute_resolution_noticeboard#Talk:LGBT_rights_in_Croatia.23.27Public_promotion_of_LGBT_issues.27_bias_discussion. In particular:

  • 2014-08-22 22:54 LGBT_rights_in_Croatia - non-civil edit comment: "That's what the lead is for, dumbass"
  • 2014-08-22 19:09 Talk:LGBT_rights_in_Croatia - personal attack "I also think he should go back to school, do an English language course, or just shut up."

Hopefully 11raccoon1 has had a break from editing for day to reflect on the edit war guidelines, which are in place to protect everyone. However, this is an element of natural justice that should be seen to come to play, and we should take care that those that have sufficient experience to know how to game the system are not misusing that knowledge to tempt less experienced editors into problems, without being admonished for their disruptive behaviour in turn. I recommend that this block is lifted so that all parties can make a positive contribution to the existing dispute resolution process.

As far as I am aware I have no prior connection to 11raccoon1, neither have I been approached or involved in any way in this dispute, until I chose to take a closer look into Plarem's edit history this morning. -- (talk) 12:46, 23 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Word of advice

edit

When encountering editors like Plarem it's always best to keep your cool and it's never okay to edit war. It will get you blocked, even if your edits are correct. I've never encountered Plarem before so I don't know his editing patterns but you will encounter editors that play games and essentially goad other editors into violating the three-revert rule or to become uncivil and get themselves blocked. Don't fall into that trap. Walk away and come back later and if an editor is POV-pushing like Plarem is on LGBT articles, report him, don't battle him. freshacconci talk to me 18:43, 23 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

  The Resilient Barnstar
I hope your experience with an editor now topic banned, does not deter you from maintaining and improving LGBT related articles. Any open project comes with the same issues as all other internet sites, and though processes need to improve, they have been created with the aim of keeping Wikipedia neutral and reliable. In the long term this does work even though in the short term it may seem frustrating. Stay with it. (talk) 10:05, 24 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at LGBT rights in Croatia. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been reverted or removed.

  • If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor then please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
  • If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive, until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively could result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you.

Your recent editing history at LGBT rights in Croatia shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you get reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution.
