Welcome

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions, such as the one you made to Field with one element. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages you might like to see:

You are welcome to continue editing articles without logging in, but I highly recommend that you create an account. Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and provides several benefits such as the ability to create articles. For a full outline and explanation of the benefits that come with creating an account, please see this page. If you edit without a username, your IP address (131.111.184.8) is used to identify you instead.

In any case, I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your IP address (or username if you're logged in) and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}} before the question on this page. Again, welcome!   Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page May Week do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Dear Authors under IP address 131.111.184.8

My name is Nuša Farič and I am a Health Psychology MSc student at University College London (UCL). I am currently running a quantitative study entitled Who edits health-related Wikipedia pages and why? I am interested in the editorial experience of people who edit health-related Wikipedia pages. I am interested to learn more about the authors of health-related pages on Wikipedia and what motivations they have for doing so. I am currently contacting the authors of randomly selected articles and I noticed that someone at this address recently edited an article on Barrett's Osophagus. I would like to ask you a few questions about you and your experience of editing the above mentioned article. If you would like more information about the project, please visit my user page (Hydra_Rain) and if interested, please visit my Talk page or e-mail me on [email protected]. Also, others interested in the study may contact me! If I do not hear back from you I will not contact this account again. Thank you very much in advance. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your edit of Grand Slam (tennis) has been reverted or removed. Please be careful when adding info that is not factual. Thanks.

Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Here are some other hints and tips:

  • I recommend that you get a username. You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free and non-intrusive, requires no personal information, and there are many benefits of having a username. (If you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.)
  • When using talk pages, please sign your name at the end of your messages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your username (or IP address) and the date.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or type {{helpme}} here on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. S. Ishihara

edit

To whomever from this IP number is working on the Ishihara article, I think you're maybe wrong. Please look at the Asahi Shimbun bit in the article and the piece cited, here. Yes, SP was "swallowed up" by JRP, but also SP is still addressed as independent and a possible problem for JRP. SP's predecessor SPJ had a history back to '10 and is one of a number of right-wing parties that may coalition (coalesce) if any/all win enough votes Dec. 16, is my reading. JRP has its own independent (outside of Tokyo) history. No sign I've seen that SP has been dissolved. I wrote about this some here and would appreciate your responding there ("sign" with four tildes ~~~~). Finally, we have this tradition in Wikipedia, not to get too arch, of having citations for our actions. I feel my citations support what I wrote. Your assertion that "the Sunrise Party was a short-lived transitional phase to the JRP" in the edit summary while just deleting my contribution comes of course with no citation. Got that? Can you play ball (def. 2)? Hope so.

While you're at it, why not get a User name, like User:Transitional phase? Click on the red, go with it. Want another? Hit "edit" above, try something else in the double brackets after the "User:", if it comes up red on preview, click and go with it. IP action, on the other hand, just makes it vaguer and harder, hm? Just pick up at Ishihara Talk with the U. name and we'll go from there. Or do nothing and I'll reverse your edit, we can "edit war" da-da-da.

All best. Swliv (talk) 00:22, 11 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
