Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and provides several benefits, such as the ability to create articles. For a full outline and explanation of the benefits that come with creating an account, please see this page. If you edit without a username, your IP address (2001:4455:1A9:E100:557A:CBB9:4DCF:663E) is used to identify you instead.
In any case, I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your IP address (or username if you're logged in) and the date. Wow
editAmazing work on the white browned nut hatch page, I'm quite impressed. You may just have a DYK coming your way... Mako001 (C) (T) (The Alternate Mako) 03:19, 26 December 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks Mako001. My only goal is to nominate some of them into GA after going into French article. I still need help how to cite the ref 3, 5, 6, 15 and 17 thou. 2001:4455:1A9:E100:557A:CBB9:4DCF:663E (talk) 03:22, 26 December 2021 (UTC)
- I'll try running citation bot, that may help, if not I'll take a look at what can be done. Mako001 (C) (T) (The Alternate Mako) 03:24, 26 December 2021 (UTC)
- No wonder citing biology-related is hard, lol. Oki, Thank you! 2001:4455:1A9:E100:557A:CBB9:4DCF:663E (talk) 03:26, 26 December 2021 (UTC)
A cookie for you!
editMy apologies for the reverts. It seemed like it might have been vandalism, and I can sometimes get over exuberant if it seems like someone is publishing a whole lot of vandalism at once. Have this cookie. Maybe consider creating a non-IP account too? Then all your edits wouldn't be tagged as "Likely bad faith" and that might keep away the over zealous vandalism fighters! ♥Th78blue (They/Them/Their • talk)♥ 04:25, 26 December 2021 (UTC) |
Ref fix
editHi, can you lend me a hand and fix ref 5 at White-browed nuthatch, thank you! 2001:4455:1A9:E100:557A:CBB9:4DCF:663E (talk) 05:29, 26 December 2021 (UTC)
- It's not a secure URL and my browser won't navigate it, so I haven't seen the source. Please just use a simple but readable ref format like
- <ref>Souza, Jonas. "Evolution of Arboreal Birds with Long Beaks". ''Science Letters'', 2020, Vol. 23, Iss. 3, pages 123–135.</ref>
There are much more elaborate ways of formatting citations, but that'll do just fine until you get more familiar with them. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 10:44, 26 December 2021 (UTC)
- Chiswick Chap I actually translated most of the content from French article. but unsure about the citation, sorry for using your time. 2001:4455:1A9:E100:983C:A642:9150:905C (talk) 10:51, 26 December 2021 (UTC)
That's fine. Readability and verifiability are of the essence. When you feel strong and are seated comfortably with a nice warm drink, you can read Template:Cite journal which will tell you all you'll ever need to know. It isn't as bad as it looks, actually. This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users.
