Welcome!
Interested in becoming a regular contributor to Wikipedia? Create an account! Your , so you might receive messages on this page that were not intended for you.To have your own user pages, keep track of articles you've edited in a watchlist, and have access to a few other special features, please consider registering an account! It's fast and free. (Note: Sometimes, due to vandalism, you may be temporarily unable to register). Applying an indefinite block to this IP is not appropriate, unless it is a soft block, because the IP address will later be reallocated to a different, unrelated, and unsuspecting user, thereby impairing access to Wikipedia in an inappropriate fashion. Caution should be used when blocking this IP or reverting its contributions without checking. The best approach is to determine the CIDR IP numerical address range and make a higher-level decision to soft-block the entire range. http://www.arin.net/ (for approximately North America) and related sites can help to identify that range. Caution is advised when applying a range block as other Wikipedians, both registered and otherwise, may be affected.
Review contributions carefully if blocking this IP address or reverting its contributions. If a block is needed, administrators should consider a soft block using Template:Anonblock. Network administrators, to monitor this IP address for vandalism, can subscribe to a web feed of this page in either RSS or Atom format. |

Welcome!
editHello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions so far. I hope you like the place and decide to stay.
Here are some links to pages you may find useful:
- Contributing to Wikipedia
- Tutorial
- How to edit a page and How to develop articles
- Simplified Manual of Style
You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but if you wish to acquire additional privileges, you can simply create a named account. It's free, requires no personal information, and lets you:
- Create new pages and rename pages
- Edit semi-protected pages
- Upload images
- Have your own watchlist, which shows when articles you are interested in have changed
Note that in order for the first three features to be available, you must have had an account for a certain number of days and made a certain number of edits.
If you edit without using a named account, your IP address (24.151.50.175) is used to identify you instead.
I hope that you, as a Wikipedian, decide to continue contributing to our project: an encyclopedia of human knowledge that anyone can edit. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, or you can to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. We also have an intuitive guide on editing if you're interested. By the way, please make sure to sign and date your talk page comments with four tildes (~~~~).
Happy editing! JACKINTHEBOX • TALK 17:16, 18 June 2018 (UTC)

editThanks for finding a URL for the Jailed for Freedom ref. I got there via a proxy and couldn't use the URL I had. I appreciate your improvement! Schazjmd (talk) 15:23, 28 September 2019 (UTC)
- Glad to be of help. This Atlantic article is more about the topic than the book itself but does contain a nice extended quotation and might be of use. 24.151.50.175 (talk) 15:28, 28 September 2019 (UTC)
- Nice! I'll ponder how to possibly fit it in. Schazjmd (talk) 15:40, 28 September 2019 (UTC)
- I've been mulling it over all day and can't see an elegant way to work it in. If you can think of an approach, go for it. Schazjmd (talk) 21:40, 28 September 2019 (UTC)
- Great job using that source! I'm on the waiting list for the book from my library, so hadn't attempted to fill in part 3. Schazjmd (talk) 17:19, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
- You did a great job in gathering sources and establishing the notablity of the book. The 1920 version I linked is public domain, but I do still want to read
WareMayo's introduction when I can get a look at the 1995 version. 24.151.50.175 (talk) 17:25, 30 September 2019 (UTC)- Thank you! I'm hoping the intro in the 1995 version (once it comes in) mentions the "Jailed for Freedom pins" that Alice Paul gave the women who were imprisoned, like whether the book title was chosen because of them or something. This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
